DELETE
Delete Contact
Use the contact.id UUID returned by contact upsert. To find a contact using your own system’s ID, use List Contacts with sourceKey and externalId. Deleting a contact removes it from contact reads and lists for every source that synced it. If a source keeps sending that external ID, its next upsert creates a new contact, so remove the record from your source as well. After a deletion, your source can send the same external IDs and eventId values to the upsert endpoint again, which creates a new contact. Opt-outs recorded for the contact’s phone number are kept and still apply to that number.
Missing, already deleted, and other-organization contacts return 404. The endpoint also returns 401 when authentication fails and 422 when the contact ID is not a valid UUID.
